It was a sad farewell to Rob and Marianne and their beautiful place and a four hour ride back to Windhoek armed with a lovely pack-lunch of course. We were staying in a B&B on the outskirts, part of the car package with Asco. We dropped off our cases and drove back into the centre of the town. Once again as in Swakopmund the German architecture is a familiar influence. It is a modern city - such as you would expect of a capital city. It seemed very westernised with its high office blocks and modern shopping complex. Not like Africa at all.
We made our way down to Independence Avenue the main shopping thoroughfare and bought more presents. The boys found another Mr Price so they were pleased and finally that elusive Namibian Rugby shirt. For us there were many interesting shops to look at with everything you could think of to buy. It is at this point that you worry about getting it all in the case.
We ended the day with a lovely meal in an African Restaurant.
