We've repositioned ourselves here in Queenstown, only 45 minutes from the little settlement of Glenorchy.  In contrast, Queenstown is activity central.  Name an outdoor activity and you can do it independently or find an outfitter to make it happen - bungie jumping, horseback riding, scenic helicopter rides, heli-hiking, kayaking, sailing, steamship rides, jetboating, water sledging, para sailing, para gliding, Lord of the Rings Tours, Photography Tours,  hiking, etc, etc, etc.

This afternoon, we have our briefing for our upcoming eight day trekking experience that starts tomorrow.   We are very excited about  it-  no question it will be a physical challenge - and the scenery will be fantastic - first half is temperate rain forest, the second half is alpine/high mountain.  No internet or cell service.  This is my 65th birthday year and for some crazy reason this is how I wanted to celebrate it - it probably has to do with how much I love to hike and I'm not sure how much longer we'll be able to do this sort of experience.

Here's a link to learn a bit about it - we're doing "The Classic" which is a combination of the Milford and Routeburn Tracks.

We'll be back in Queenstown on Sunday, February 2nd for one night and I'll check back in with you all then.

Please pray for good weather & make it a good week!
