I decided to extend my stay in Lucca but ditched my high price digs for some more backpacker-esque accommodations. Heather and Andy -- and Eben, and Elisha, and Jen you'll all be happy to hear that I am staying at a hostel tonight, sharing a room with up to 7 other gals. I will let you know how the experience turns out. But I'm staying positive!

Last night I took a free Argentinian Tango class. I saw a poster for it and I had no other plans for the evening, so I went. It was really fun. And I'm so glad Gaby and I did our class in SF otherwise I would have been really lost since I only understood every fourth word from the teacher. I danced with Gialucca. Or at least I think that is what he said his name was. We didn't do much talking either. Other than "bene?" "bene." But I think that's part of the experience of dancing in a foreign country.

Tomorrow I head to Cinque Terre. Since it's off season and a weekday I am following ol' Rick Steeve's advice and just heading to town without a reservation to get the best room for a deal. But I have a long list of possible places to stay in case Rick ain't right. From everything I hear about the Cinque Terre, I won't be spending much time in the room. And I am excited to finally bust out my new bikini! Relaxation and sunshine here I come. (Because what I have been doing hasn't been relaxing. Josie, you're an idiot.)

15 minutes left on the hostel internet card. I think I'll save these up for tomorrow morning and do another check in before I go. I absolutely LOVE reading all the comments you guys are posting. Really makes me feel like I'm sharing the experience with you, which makes the trip that much richer.

Adios! Crap. Ciao!

digs on the coast
Almost everyone I know that has gone to Cinque Terra has found a place to stay as they got off the train. I'm sure you'll be fine.
