So we made it to romantic Rome!  Our flight from Barcelona was at 6:30am, so we made it to Rome by 8:30.  We tried checking into our hotel early, but had to wait till 12 to get into our room.  The only place to leave our luggage was out in the lobby, we thought that was too sketchy, so we sat around for 3 hours waiting for our room to be ready.  Let's just say, hospitality in the US is much better than here in Europe.  Anyways, after getting settled in, we took a long walk around the city.  We had no idea where we were going, but came upon several beautiful monuments, statues, and then the Vatican!!!  Jamie had seen the Vatican before, but had never seen it at night.  It was gorgeous all lit up.  They still had a Christmas tree and nativity scene up from the holidays.  It was very quiet and peaceful.  The Vatican City has a population of 900 and is situated on the Vatican Hill in the west-central part of Rome.  It is considered the smallest country in the world, and it has its own; currency, post office, radio station, and own army.  The next morning we took a tour of the Colesium and the Ancient Roman Forum.  The Colesium was enormous and crawling with history.  The Colesium was completed in 80 AD, 2,000ish years ago!!!  Right next to the Colesium we took a tour of the Ancient Roman Forum.  We saw the Arch of Constantine, "the oldest door", Palentine Hill, and many other ancient buildings.  It was fascinating to learn and see so much history.  We enjoyed a unique side of the forum and of the Palentine Hill, we also walked along the Ancient pavement, which crosses the evocative ruins of the Roman Forum.  Luckily, we made it through the tours (which was about 3 hours total) without any rain.  Then out of nowhere, it started to rain so hard!!!  We had a 10 min. walk to the metro, where we both got drenched from head to toe!  So we decided to call it a day, and headed back to the hotel.  The next day we didn't do much.  Unfortuantely, it was still raining.  We had lunch, tried some amazing gelato, did some shopping and walked around the city knowing it was our last day here.  Next, we are headed to Milan, Italy!!!

Re: AMAZING ITALY PICTURES
Hea auntie Bevmo! haha, thanks so much for your comment! We are having a blast on this crazy trip and we are very glad to share as much of it with our loved ones as possible!! So we are in Interlaken Switzerland right now and we absolutly LOVE it here! By far our favorite stop yet. It is obviously cold here, snowing actually...but we are loving it none-the-less. Went snowboading yesterday and we are probably going out again on tuesday, our last full day here. Hope all is well at the carwash, and with everyone there in Cali!
Much love from the Alps!!
