We went on a hike to Vernal Falls. The hike was called Mist Trail. First it was a regular paved trail and then it turned into 800 stone steps of wetness. There was a lot of mist from the waterfalls and we got soaked. It was in the 90's and we liked getting soaked. It was 2.7 miles up. When we got to the top of the falls, Mom and Preston decided to go onto Nevada Falls, which was 1.5 miles further up. Dad and I went back down went swimming in the village pool. Mom reports that she and Preston hiked a total of 8 miles. It was difficult and hot, but the views were spectacular. The waterfalls were huge. Both falls had super strong currents, full of melted snow. Mom and Preston came back exhausted and thirsty and sweaty. We all met at the pool to cool off, had a good dinner. We also had a rat or bird making noise in our canvas tent. It kept us awake. We had alittle bit of trouble sleeping.....
