Hi everyone, sorry it's been a while since I posted. After a few days in Kampot (spent the last day hiking) I headed to Koh Tonsay (Rabbit Island) with Garret and Ties. It's a relatively known about island however the lack of running water and an electricity source means it hasn't been seized by big business resort companies like many of SE Asia's beaches have, and the influx of travelers is steady rather than dominating. Only 7 families live there and provide the huts. We had a brilliant time; it was relaxed to say the least. One of the definite highlights was seeing phosperesence, I'd read descriptions of it but those descriptions really didn't do it justice. That and an amazing lightning storm lighting up the mainland and the clear night sky whilst we remained in completely tranquil still water. The beach was definitely the nicest I've ever been to, and basically we chilled out for a few days, doing a lot of nothing, but that's what beaches are for! We did walk round the island one day but couldn’t get round halfway and had to get a fisherman to take us back by boat. We left on the Friday and headed up to Phnom Penh again, mainly because it's a necessity to get to many places in Cambodia to go through the capital. By this time I'd decided to go to the North-East of Cambodia instead of straight to Vietnam, I was enjoying Cambodia and the North-East jungle and mountain areas really appealed to me after being recommended it by loads of people. Phnom Penh was nice for a night too, met a few more people but then in the morning headed to Stung Treng, after saying bye to Garret and Ties - we had a really fun and chilled week with each other, but everyone agreed they were looking forward to heading off to new places on their own again. Traveling alone is fun and very flexible, but it's great to travel with people, so far I've had a good balance, and meeting people is constant even if you don't end up traveling to places with them.
P.S: We didn't stay in Kep, it's listed as that because it’s the nearest point this site has on the map, Koh Tonsay is a boat ride from Kep.
