After we cruised our van in to drop it off and spent one last night in a caravan park, we went straight to our accommodation in Trinity Beach. It turned out to be a great find. We had a full two bedroom apartment right on the beach with a kitchen, laundry, swimming pools, and a lot more. After living inside of a Wicked Campervan for the past 2.5 weeks, a bed with air conditioned rooms was heavenly. Plus we were able to cook for ourselves in our kitchen and not use the van's backpacker's stove while sitting on the ground in a parking lot in the middle of nowhere.

We spent several days relaxing around Trinity Beach. There wasn't all that much for us to do, because everything in Australia is so expensive. We had to buy a bag of wine instead of beer to save money. I am very sad about this. We also walked along the beach and did as many free activities that we could find. Our last day here, we rented a car and drove all around the area. We hiked several trails including Stony's Creek and Crystal Cascades. We also checked out the Barron Gorge and Lake Placid. Then we headed into Cairns to get a bite to eat. I had fish n chips and a meat pie; two Australian dishes that needed to be tasted before we leave. We still have yet to eat some kangaroo meat, although I will feel kinda bad about eating kangaroo. Tomorrow we are flying back to Sydney where we will stay with our friends Mick and Brie who we met in Thailand and do something special for Tara's birthday. She is turning 25, old lady!
