So, we got into Bangkok after a pretty long flight (about 9 hours) from Cairo. We were pleasantly surprised when we got in. The prices here are amazing, even in this big city. We took a 50 km taxi from the airport to our hotel and it cost us around 8 dollars. When we got to the hotel we went and had a big dinner with some sodas, which cost us about 4.50 dollars. Can't complain so far. And it apparently gets even cheaper when we leave Bangkok and head to the smaller areas.
Unfortunately, Tara wasn't feeling very well, so we didn't get the chance to venture out in the city and explore much. No matter though, because we are in SE Asia for about 65 days and we will be going through Bangkok at least twice more while we are in this region. I did get to enjoy a beer while we were here though. It was cheap and delicious, just how I like them! We fly to Phuket tomorrow for about 9 days and then head out to Hanoi, Vietnam. Hopefully we will get to explore Bangkok a little bit more next round.
