Today I went to France for the first time in my life.
I regularly get, you've never been to Paris? Or, howcome you've never been to France? I often don't know how to answer this question. I mean, there are hundreds of countries I've never been to. France was one of them.
- So, how do you like France?
- It's a lot like Switzerland.
Oh... this response generated a reaction. As did,
- So, is there anywhere to get decent wine in this county?
I thought I was hilarious. France and his french friend were just like, fucking speak french already you stupide canadienne.
So we had fondue. The rain didn't aid the two frenchmen's efforts to show me a real festival in Les Alps, but it it was reprieve from the heat, which could then be tranformed into a need for mt first dipping-bread-in-cheese-experience.
And my favourite quote of the night (besides the one I forgot), which needs to be said in the most french-accent you can imagine is,
- When you meet french people and zey do not complain about anything, zey are not really french.
Truly :)
Soisant quatorze. Anyone... is that how you'd spell it (in french french? as opposed to swiss french, which might be septant quatre. but might not be... spelling french sucks.)?
