I've come to the conclusion that the Danes read a dictionary and then change the definition to meet their own needs. See definition for mountain and fjord.

We went to see the viking longship museum. The vikings were seriously nuts to have put to sea in these ships. They have rebuilt some of these ships using the same techniques and have sailed the bloody thing to Ireland.

Some of the things the vikings did were brutal. If one of their chiefs died they took 10 days to get the funeral prepared. Then they load the body onto a long ship, nothing new there, then they kill a number of horses, dogs etc and chop these up and put them on the ship. They then take a slave girl, 6 men rape her. She is then killed by strangulation and by being stabbed before being thrown on the ship aswell.

The viking era came to an end around William the Conquerors time as at that point other nations were able to defend themselves.

Roskilde Domkirke (Cathedral) is truely stunning. For two people who are not really religious we have visited a lot of churches. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roskilde_Cathedral
Roskilde is 800 years old. All the danish monarchs are buried here. Including Harold Bluetooth
for whom the Bluetooth standard is named.

They are currently building the current Queens tomb. Me? I'd have said I'm not dead yet!

Oh and it tried to rain again.
