Sunday morning saw us up early, ready for the next stage of the magical mystery tour.

First stop - Titirangi Market - a craft market held in Titirangi on the last Sunday of every month.  It is heaven for Lucy and I and hell for Jeff and Daniel!

As Brian and Glad were with us, we all went down for the experience.  It had been several months since we had visited and it was good to see new stalls, lots of potential tat to look at over the next few months!  This was just a quick taster as we had a lunch date with the Sky Tower.  We plan to visit the market again at the end of March!

Lunch at the Sky Tower was even better than the last time we visited.  The views from the Observatory Restaurant were amazing, once again due to fantastic weather.  We had great views of folk either walking around the outside of the tower, and those who had decided to launch themselves off on a big elastic band!  I rather fancy the walk around the edge, and I think Jeff does too!  Perhaps that could be one of our future challenges.  Perhaps we could even get Grandma out there before she leaves??  She did show quite a lot of interest in the people jumping off!  Time will tell...................................watch this space!  The food was excellent and we all got to try out a variety of dishes that we had never had before.  Lucy and Dan took a distinct liking to Calamari, Lucy was even more keen when she knew where it came from!  We lost count of the number of rings she ate!

After our meal we headed for the viewing floor.  The last time we had visited the tower was during our visit in 2008, with the Tomlinsons & Parks.  It was mid winter and the sky was dark and full of rain, today the sky was blue and the views were great.  We really enjoyed being up so high, being able to see the whole of Auckland and beyond.  I particularly enjoyed testing myself, trying hard to recall various areas of the city and how they link up together.  I have to say, I think Jeff and I have done particularly well at finding our way around the city.  We are both so glad that we had bought the New Zealand maps for our Tom Tom, that gave us the confidence to get out and explore and over time we have learnt these routes off by heart.  My system is - first time - Tom Tom, second time - Tom Tom, third time - Tom Tom on but try not to use it, fourth time - Tom Tom in car but not switched on!  So far it seems to have worked!

After an enjoyable experience at the tower we headed for some more views of the city from ground level, from Bastion Point.  Then we headed over to Mission Bay to experience a typical summer Sunday.  A hive of folk enjoying the beach, water, cafes, generally enjoying the outdoors and the summer sun.  A chaotic place that is somehow relaxing at the same time.  It certainly makes you feel like you are constantly on holiday!

Grandma and Papa seemed to enjoy the experience and still did not seem to be showing any signs of jetlag.  Fantastic news :-)
