'Can I get up now and play with my lego?'
'No Lucy, it's far too early.  Please go back to sleep.'
'What about now, can I get up?'
'No Lucy, only 5 minutes have passed since you asked last!'
'What about now?'

Lucy was up early, excited because she wanted to play with her new lego.  We are not sure how she does it, a very late night and then has the energy to be up early to play with her lego.  She will probably spend the first week in NZ sleeping!  Once she was up, Daniel was awake and wanting Daddy to build his lego!

After breakfast we headed off in the car to explore the East of the island.  The original idea was to go to Hanuma Bay, but as it was so busy we decided to leave it for another day.  We drove around the coastal road and headed for Kailua - a lovely white sandy beach, perfect for the children.

On arrival we wend for lunch first - a fantastic little restaurant which sold proper food!  We were naughty too and had dessert.

Afterwards, we hit the beach...............................

The sea was so warm, it was like walking into a bath and it was so calm.  We all had a great time.  The kids ended up borrowing a diver's mask from another family and that made the whole experience much better.  She was under the water looking for things and doing handstands and forward rolls - we now have a fish as a daughter!

After several hours in the sun and sea we drove back across the island along the Pali Highway, which offered some stunning views of the mountains and some panoramas of the coast.

The plan was to go back to the hotel, however, we saw the sign for the cinema - Ward 16 so decided to go there instead.....just made the 6pm showing of Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs in 3D.  I thought going to the cinema in the US would be cheaper than the UK......wrong!  Never mind the whole experience was fun, sitting in a theatre with the most amazing sound stuffing our faces with popcorn and slurping on soda!!  As for the film - entertaining but stupid is how Jeff and I would describe it.  As for the kids - they LOVED it.

On leaving the cinema we walked back to the car, only to discover that Lucy had left Ellie in the family toilet - she was so upset, it was a mad dash back to collect her!  Phew all sorted.

It was then a quick trip back to Ala Moana for a couple more shops and dinner before driving back to the hotel.
