This was a trip I really wasn't looking forward to, something I had been dreading for a very long time.  For the whole time we were up in Thirsk, we didn't talk about the goodbyes, we chose to ignore them!  We had a lovely Sunday lunch out at the Haines Arms on the A19 and met up with Sarah, a friend of mine from school, who I hadn't seen in a very long time in Thirsk.

On Monday morning we had a very tearful time saying goodbye to my Mum, Dad and Emma.  We are hoping Emma was none the wiser as Mum took her out for a walk and we packed and moved out while they were gone.

No one could have prepared us for how it feels to say goodbye to family.  I was obviously expecting the upset from saying goodbye and not seeing people for a while.  However, I was not prepared for the feeling of guilt.  At the end of the day Jeff and I have made this decision and if we feel upset than it's our own fault.  However, it makes you feel pretty horrible when you make other people feel so upset and make them cry.
