Today we caught the Eurostar from Paris to LONDON. It was a 2.5 hour ride! While we were in the middle of the tunnel between Paris and London the train stopped completely. Then came a message over the loud speaker. "Please do not attempt to exit the train. We are trying to find the problem." Sooooo I thought we may be there for ages and ages stuck in the middle of the tunnel but luckily it started up again in a few minutes!!! In London we stayed with one of Mum's  friends called Janet and her son William.

I'm on the train from Paris to England. I've never been there before. On the train you can see some rain, high in the sky. In the hills you can see windmills. In the beautiful countryside, let's have some fun and out comes the sun. It was like it was meant to happen. The grass is clean, sweet green. Oh, here is the Queen and Big Ben too. And that was our trip on the train.

Rosemary writes...

It was sad to finally farewell France and say goodbye to Joan and her family. We do hope they are going to come and stay with us in Auckland next year. They have been so generous letting us stay in their gorgeous Paris home. Simon and I were very hesitant as we left Vincennes in a taxi bound for Gard du Nord. We had 14 pieces of luggage in tow, Genevieve in a wheelchair and had to make it through customs and onto the Eurostar. We collapsed into our seats on the train 2 hours later, with nothing missing and mentally prepared ourselves for London.

The black cabs were a welcome sight as we came out of St Pancras train station. We piled in to two cabs and sat back excitedly watching London zapping by. It was great to see Janet and William again and sip on a glass of chilled NZ Sauvignon Blanc. It was two hours later that we realised we had left Genevieve's bag on the train. Nightmare!

Note - we have unfortunately had to rely on Simon's I phone photos for this part of the trip. Read on about the burgarly in Tunbridge Wells.
