We started this morning running a little late with a wonderful skype call to the family in Auckland. Then it was time to farewell the Simmonds with promises of them coming to visit us all very soon in NZ. Liam announced that he would love to join us all for the rest of our holiday and could we start again please.

We headed off on the M20 for our next family adventure in Slindon, West Sussex to stay with Sue and Patrick Foley (Sue is the daughter of Mum's cousin, Peter). After a lovely lunch sitting out in their gorgeous garden in the country, we headed to the hospital at Chichester for Genevieve's specialist appointment. Fantastic news! Her casts were ceremoniously removed  and both her ankles were mended perfectly. Genevieve stood for the first time after 6 weeks on her feet albeit hesitantly with help from the doctor. A major milestone for her. With a pair of crutches in hand and the slightly smelly green casts, we had smiles on our faces as left the hospital for a celebratory drink back at Slindon. The doctor advised that the best exercise for Genevieve is swimming and walking in a pool. Luckily Sue and Patrick have a large, heated swimming pool in their garden so guess where we will be spending most of our time over the next few days. We certainly won't be venturing far from home.
