The Island of Camiguin is stunning and small enough to tour by moped in a day, it has 4 volcano's and lush vegetation all over, the beaches are mainly dark brown volcanic sand but there is an abundance of good dive area's and white sand bars of the coasts.
Having spent 4 days here to rest up after all the travelling I feel like moving on now, so off to Benoni port to get the fast sea cat across to Cagayan de oro.
The port is nothing spectacular like most ports I guess, buy a ticket for the viewing deck at Peso 550 about £7.00 for the 2 hr trip, As the sunsets over the Philippene sea around 6pm its still 28 degrees and there is a lot of people on there mobile phones looking and sounding worried. I have no idea of their concerns until i land and find out about the "TSUNAMI" that has just devastated the Japanese coastline and is on its way to Me!!!
The town of Cagayan de oro is not a pretty place and very busy like many large cities here and a little unsettling upon arrival in the dark.
Manage to find a good hotel called the Pearlmont inn an old colonial style building and very English inside nice friendly faces and decent rooms and a cheap rate of about £18.00.
I have stayed up late to catch the news and think that it is ok to travel onwards.
Cagayan town is nothing to write home about a bit scuffy and tired and dont think its worth more than a nights stay over, which is what Im doing.

You cannot compare Cagayan to Camiguin because Camiguin is an island and CDO is a city. Perhaps you haven't find some good spots in CDO that is why. You may find useful information from here

Hello Joy, thank you for your welcome comment about CDO, and Camiguin, unfortunately I can can only write what I see and make comparisons to that affect.
I am sure there is lovely places around CDO, but I cannot write about the places haven't seen.
I am writing this as a personal account of my own journeys and to give a true representation of my eyes view and I could repeat the travel one hundred times and have 100 different points of view, seeing different thing's each time.
Thanks for the web site and maybe next time im around there i will see more
Well, I am maybe a little bit carried away. Haha. But you are right. Of course you cannot write about a place where you haven't seen a lot. But I must say that what you write about Camiguin and others are interesting.
Hello Joy, as a matter of interest are you from the Philippines or have you just traveled around there.? A picture would be nice too hehe.
Well, I live in Philippines, somewhere in a not so popular place. I just visited Cagayan de Oro last week and I find it a nice place. I have been to Camiguin too but for the shortest time only. Good that you have visited Philippines. Hope you had a really good time. :)
Hello guys. I've been in both places; Camiguin and Cagayan de Oro. Well, the difference between them is that Camiguin is a very great place for a vacation because of the amazing natural resources while Cagayan de Oro is a place for adventurers because of there most famous recreational activities which is Asia's longest zip lining, white water rafting and a lot more. :)
Yeah, you can find it here: www.cdokay.com . Thanks for sharing the link Joy.
