We stayed overnight at Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast so we could get an early start. After brekkie we hit the road and arrived at Australia Zoo at about 10am. We were greeted by a very friendly camel called Tilly. Next stop the Crocoseum to see the birds, snakes and crocs show.

After lunch we wandered around looking at the other animals including Tasmanian devils, elephants and wombats. We also bought some special food to feed the Kangaroos but they seemed more interested in our sarnies!

The Zoo is great and it was sad to think that Steve Irwin is no longer around. He wasn't everyone's cup 'o' tea but he was definitely a great ambassador for wildlife. The Zoo is doing a great job to ensure the legend lives on.

We must have taken at least 10 thousand photos of Koala bears. Here are some of the best ones...
