Both flights and our connection through Tokyo went smoothly and we arrived in Singapore right on time, something of a rarity for us. Singapore is like Asia 101. It's very modern, easy to get around, and English is used as the medium of education and is a primary language outside the home.
While in Singapore we were lucky enough to spend time with our friends who live there, Kerk and Sharlyn. We couldn't have had more gracious hosts! Although this was our second time in Singapore, nothing beats seeing it with a couple of friendly local guides. In addition, Singapore is known for its unique culinary dishes and Kerk and Sharlyn made sure we got to do plenty of eating.
It was also nice to have this quick three-day stop to allow us to overcome the jet lag and to start to get used to the humidity. We think that someone forgot to turn on the air conditioning in these parts...
Enjoy the pictures. (Don't forget that you can click on the first picture to read comments and view the images as a slide show.)
Until next time,
Jon and Liz
