Ankara, the capital of Turkey, was another stop that we didn't originally expect to make. While it does have some good sights, we often try to avoid places where the big city sprawl dominates everything else. No matter, it just made sense to stop here for bus routing as we made our way back to Istanbul and, as is usually the case, it exceeded our expectations.
We visited the very nice and well done Museum of Anatolian Civilizations which dedicated exhibit space for pieces dating all the way back to the Stone Age and up through the first millennium. The other stop that we decided not to miss was Ataturk's mausoleum and we'll be sharing these photos with you in this entry.
Just a couple more stops to go on our way back to Istanbul...
Enjoy!
