We spent one night and half a day in Malatya as we made arrangements to head for Mt Nemrut.  Once again, it turned out to be a nice stop over.  If you've ever eaten a Turkish apricot, it probably came from the hundreds of acres of groves that can be seen for miles around this apricot producing region of the country.  The early harvest was just coming in when we visited.

While waiting for our transportation to Mt Nemrut, we spent some time wandering the bazaar and market of the city and were overwhelmed by the friendliness of the people here.  They kept giving us fruit by the handful up until the point where we had half a bag full of apricots and nectarines.  We also got some great pictures which we'll share with you in this entry.

Enjoy!
