The Hop on/Hop off bus is the way to see Dublin. We started next door at the Trinity College, where we found the Book of Kells.
Later took the bus and made our first stop at the Dublin Castle. Quite a dissapointment and we decided not to pay to get in. We went on to St. Patrick's Cathedral. This was quite beautiful. A protestant church. We were allowed to take photos.
The next stop was Kilmainham Gaol. So much history here!! from the Easter uprising to the civil war and more. Many political prisoners saw their final days here.
Later we went to dinner. We went to the restaurant that was recommended to us by the guy at the ticket counter in SeaTac airport...Brewley's. It seemed to only have pizza and pasta, so we went over to O'Neill's, which had been recommended to us by a local at the store around the corner. This is where we learned that you generally go up to the counter to order your food. Well, this food should never have been ordered...it was the worst! We only ate enough of it to know how bad it was. By then we had connected with a couple of my colleagues, by phone, so we all agreed to meet at the Bank, another restaurant (where you actually get waited on). This was nice, but we had pretty much lost our appetites. I had some really good pumpkin soup.
We then visited Temple Bar, which is the place to be in the evening. It's a hopping place.
