Grant and I set off for Nelson this morning via Havelock and Rai Valley. It was a nice and sunny day. On arriving we took Graeme's wedding suit back to the Suit hire, then went up to the Cathedral, built of Takaka marble as is the Parliament building in Wellington. It is surprisingly nice inside and there is someone to take you around and show you points of interest if you feel like a chat. We had lunch by the harbour and went up a hill behind The Wood to get a good look at the city from a hill.
We returned to Havelock and took Queen Charlotte drive to Picton. What a beautiful drive with so many lovely bays. When we reached Picton we saw the Inter-Island ferry arrive and dock, a great piece of precision parking, all done very quickly and unloading of vehicles was surprisingly quick too. We had a great meal at the flying Haggis in the main st. with Wayne, Glenys, Matthew and Ashley. We tottled home in the sunset to Sue's and Graeme's near Spring Creek for the night.
