Okay, so we decided that we needed to get the heck out of maryland for a few days. We had planned a trip earlier but do to unforseen issues we had to postpone those plans. So when the issues of everyday life finally got the best of us we decided to go to Ashville, North Carolina. We could have gone to Philly as always but then we really would just be sticking to the old stand by. Ashville was an 8 hour drive but who the heck want to drive for 8 hours when your trying to relax? We decided to stop in Lexington. I know that you were hoping I would twell you which lexington. Well deal with it. I do not remember and I am way to prideful to ask the smart one of this duo. I will say that they had a great bistro and the hotel we stayed in was fantastic. Not helping you am I? oh well, we continued to drive the following day and arrived safely in Ashville. We had rented a condo it seems at the Residence at Biltmore. We had a kitchen and it required food. So we decided to take a journey through the downtown area of Ashville and look for a food store. What we found was more than your Stop and Shop. What a wonderful experience to find an organic grocery dtore in the middle of red neck country. We found everything we needed.
The next morning we decided to get out and go see the number one attraction here in Ashville. The Biltmore House. This thing is over 100,000 square feet of beautiful home. It sits on grounds that are measure in miles not acres. 4 Miles fro the front gat to the home and then another 3 miles to the winery. A fabulous spot to bring the kids and the grandparents. They have elevators installed so that even the disabled can get around. All in all it was a great place to visit. We are thinking about going back witgh the boys in April.
The better half was having some issues with her walking due to a muscle problem still yunsolved by the doctors. So we did not get out after that visit. We do hope to give more information during our next visit in April.
See you on the road,
