Today is Christmas and the day will be quiet. Nothing is open and all the celebrations took place last night. Dinner is at about 10pm after attending the church service. The Church service was packed and very very beautiful. There was a group of 10 singers and musicians playing the christmas music of Mexico. Many small children dressed as angles being held by a parent. As well there were many people with the baby Jesus statues in their arms as they sat through the service. This was a very beautiful event to be in the presence of. Very moving really.
Home to cook and eat than to open the present at midnight. Different from our celebrations yet so very full of love and deep affection. And in this house Dad does the dishes. Yeah
Earlier in the day we went to Coatapec where all the best organic coffee in Mexico is grown and it is mighty fine coffee. An older town yet not a colonial city it once was so prosperous with the growing of coffee until the Brazilians started a hybrid coffee plant that was less labour intensive and these growers here could not compete. The town went into heavy unemployment and several years ago resurrected their coffee by becoming completely organic. Really really good coffee and some of you will recieve some upon my return. So you better be good you better be nice. It won't take much to make me thnk twice and keep it myself.
It was a 4 hour drive from Mexico City to Xalapa where Vanessa's family lives and the landscape went from fields of cultivated land to cattle grazing land to a lush forest of huge trees and boganvilla growing every where. This is an amazing country for its differences in this way.
Going out for a walk with Vanessa in the hopes of not having to buy an extra seat on the plane for my return trip

Christmas was fun as always, we went to the hulls for dinner and play this new game on the xbox It's like the wii but you don't have any controlers so the game reads your body and transmitts it to the t.v. techno stuff is amazing now. Anyways the kids all had a great time playing it. the game is a dance game and there were a few danceoffs. larissa and natel the winners. rocky came close but no win.
Looks like you guys had turkey dinner? did you have mexican food also? I'm interested in the diffrent traditions people have. Whats the weather been like is it sunny? Just seeing the sun would be beautiful.

The turkey was smoked which was very tasty and different. You buy it smoked then you just heat it up for dinner. There was this amazing chichen done with a cream sauce and cheese and the chicken was stuffed with ham. There was a pork roll stuffed with something amazing and the most delicious pasta I'ver ever had.
Enjoy your visit with all the kids and grand kids. Love yah and don't really have time to miss anything.
