. It was lovely none the less and we walked back to the pier for chowder, fish and chips, shrimps and more chowder. On our way to the pier I noticed a policeman dancing his socks off with a few collegues mabey our police at home should take note and chillax alittle! Monterey was cute and somewhere at xmas I could imagine would be truely like a dream. I would definately return, goodbye monterey...y'hello Pismo in the morning.
Today I woke up in the comfiest bed ever....I didnt want to get out. I thought San Fran was a beaut matress as ive shown in the pictures but last night was on a whole new scale of its own. Natalie and I have taken to using the carrot scale this holiday to rate things. Since my sistas like to think of my pinky fingers as wee crunchy carrots, we now messure things on the carrot scale.......this bed last night was on a scale of its own! So out of bed and dressed it was off for a day in Pismo beach!
Pismo beach was beaut! Its defo's the kind of place I could live forever. The street had cute cafes and surfer shops and the weather was not roasting but nicely hot with a breeze....this was still abit cold for arno. The beach was clear sand and the pismo mansions could be seen lurking in the hills below the famous 101 freeway, which we drove on btw! The whole ambience of the town was surfer, chilled and just a cool place to be. We relaxed on the beach for a couple of hours, building nunnels as rowan says and doing the tedious chore of suncreaming ourselves and then 5minutes later getting an all over exfoliation because all the sands stuckeverywhere
. Dad you would of been at your element here saying "aww beaches should be concrete!". After a couple of hours on the beach the sun completely disappeared and we seemed immeresed in a massive cloud. We decided it was time to move on. We decided to walk along the Pismo pier which runs down the middle of the beach. It has big squinty wooden legs holding it in place and runs right into the sea. Along the pier was men fishing and at the very top sat 4 or 5 pelicans. We witnessed a poor wee fisherman having a fish he'd caught stolen by a pelican....the fisherman was not amused. The pier was super especially under a cloud and the sea crashing below! On our way back to the car we stopped in at a frozen yogurt shop. Frozen yogurt (Fro yo) is our new love. Its like icecream but healthier and slightly more tasty...its icecream without the sweetness! As you would have seen in San Frans pics we tasted our fro yo for the first time there. However Pismo brings fro yo to a whole new level. On the carrot scale its a close 10carrots/10. In the fro yo shop in Pismo you have around 5 or 6 flavours of yogurt to choose from...then you grab a tub and pour as much or as little as you want. Quite boring so far until you reach the topping section...... For choice of topping you have like a whole shop counter of hundreds of toppings, hot and cold sauces and fruits you want to add to you yougurt. I chose shortbread flavoured yougurt with walnuts, coconut and pecan nuts......it was amaze! once youve made your selection you weigh it and boom thats your Pismo fro yo. We were living in a dream in that shop......its like a pic and mix but for ice cream, amazing! This evening we chilled in the hottub and had a quiet night in....its tireing all this travellling! After a buzy 2 days of beaches, piers and frozen yogurt were all tucked up in bed....unfortunetly my bed tonight is a sofa bed with about two springs left in it.....the matress squeeks as I turn over and it bends not only at the top and bottom but in the middle. Basically if I dont wake up with a trapped nerve ill be lucky and If I dont need a wheelchair it will be a miricle!
Suppose you cant have luxurious beds every night eh?? hope Natalie and Arno are having a wonderful sleep next door!
Love Love Love X
Im going to combine today and yesterdays festivities into one tonight! After starting our day finishing off the San Fransisco tour bus and being followed halfway down the street by a homeless crazy dude we headed off to the city of Monterey! We were staying here for one night so as soon as we arrived we made sure to get out and explore this little fishing town! Monterey is cold......alot colder than LA,Vegas and even cooler than San Fran. The weather here is slightly windy, cool with little sunshine (today) hence why it is a surfers paradise! Breeziness aside, Monterey is cute! It's a fishing town with a small harbour of boats and local fishing restraunts. Seals were playing by the boats over next to the pier and along the harbour restraunts were showcasing customers with their fish chowder much to natalies delight! It was a cute town and defo's a place maw and dad would love. It has a spanish feel to it,it's quiet, peaceful and reminded me of La Caleta in Tenerife. Once we explored the town we headed to the Monterey beach which would have been even better if God turned down the wind volume abit and cranked on the heating
