After receiving a delicious breakfast of Almond cossiants and coffee in our room by Arno it was off to the bike shop we go! Today we rented bicycles and cycled accross the Golden Gate Bridge....four times in two days record! Arno cycled with Elodie in a little car seat behind him and Natalie the same with Rowan. Helmets check...kids strapped in...check and appropriate clothing for cycling....no. I made the rookie error of wearing a short summer dress to cycle in, not feeling in the mood to flash my cheeks to all cars passing over and other cyclists I luckily had some spair shorts in my bag so I did the summer dress/shorts combo! We headed off on our cycling ways to the Golden Gate Bridge. The cycle to the bridge from the shop mabey took an hour in total and we were in need of some juice on arrival at the bridge cafe before heading over. The cycle wasnt smooth with some evil hills and slopes lurcking in our path! After lunch we began to cycle over the bridge, it was amazing and defo''s one of the best things I have ever done. Today the bridge was half covered in fog and ontop there was a heavy wind. Get this though I cycled accross the bridge with my One hand stearing and the other waving a laptop which was hooked upto skype so mum,dad and karen could also travel accross the bridge. I must be one of few people who have cycled accross the bridge whilst chatting on a laptop screen. Hope you enjoyed maw! It was brilliant and I did get a few looks of she's crazy, don't do that mam, don't drop the laptop! The thing I also noticed about cycling in San Fran: There are the tourists who are there to have fun,see sights,go at a lesiurley pace. Then theres the locals who are as one said to me "Seeing these sights everyday" and then there are the utter chicken nuggets who are dressed in lycra from head to toe, shaved calves (men and women), thighs bursting out of shorts and like to think they are  better than anyother cyclist and own the whole pathway. I tell you its a dog eat dog world up on the cycling paths of Golden Gate bridge and some people can get grumpy in their lycra ensembles but not us we had a ball!! And im super happy Maw,dad and karen could ride on my handlebars with me!!!
Sadlebum and sores in place we decided to walk oh just the short walk of an hour or so to union square, here we caught a old fashioned tram to Lombard street which is a steep, crooked, winding road in the hills of Callifornia. The tram ride was fun,we never hung out the side but had seats behind the driver whom stands in the middle doing his thang. The conductor was loud and over the top but he added to the san fran ambience created by the tram. Inside however waas full of people and One stop before ours a local lady got on and decided to spread her germs by sneezing and sniffling her bright red fluy nose in my face. I gave her "the look" and got off at Lomabard Street. The street was funky and a unique sight to see! From here we walked....I know more walking down to Fisherman's Warf. Fishermans Warf is located down by the harbour and pier and is definatley a place dad you would love. Theres amazing fish restraunts and stands selling everything from calamari to squid and octopus. There are street acts and shops and a real buzz about the place. Whilst we were there we decided it was a great place for dinner and we could eat it by the sea! There was circus acts, comedy acts and musical acts. At the part of the pier we were on there was a brilliant drummer/singer playing some famous reggie/pop hits. Since Rowans new game is to play his imaginery drum and guitar he was loving it. For dinner I chose fish and chips, I thought this was quite fitting as its one of my favourite dinners, It's the dinner Grandpa and I would always eat together,we were by the sea so fish and chips is a must and really because I didnt fancy octopus or crab! Natalie chose to go for the option which was so low on my list it didnt even make the list...
Clam chowder.......whilst I was in the que for my fish and chips all I could see was people waalking around with big massive pieces of bread rolls with like a fishy soup poaring out....abs boaking material there and as I walked over to tell Natalie of this godawful bready dish there she was serving clan schmidt the chowder......there are no words.

Chowder, fish, shrimps, calamari in hand and doging seguls we made our way over the drummer to eat by the sea. The drummer was playing in a little square and he was so good he was making people stop to dance...including us. we danced, ate and it was a brilliant way to end the day. There was a real good ambience at Fisherman's Warf, Alcatraz was in the background, people were freely dancing to the music and the restraunts were buzzing! great fun! After days of walking and finding out about some dangerous neighbourhoods nearby we decided to take a taxi home.

Were in bed just now for an early night but downtown San Fran below us is still hustling and bustling. San Frans cold, the people are super happy and the streets are steep! I have also noticed alot of homeless people in San Fran more than in any other city or i'd say at home. They seem harmless and friendly and in town they do anything to try and help a tourist to get a dollar. All these things and of course the Bridge make up the San Fransisco weve seen. I dont know what I expected beforehad but it's been amaze! The beaches leg of our tour starts tomorrow and I do know what I'll be expecting from them....much less walking!!!!!!
