I got back to San Francisco just in time to meet up with one hundred thousand of my closest friend for a parade across the city celebrating the amazingness of dance music. Blued myself up in a jumpsuit and wig, and met up with the gang of bay area hoopers at the start of the parade.

I can't tell you how many photos we had taken of us. As soon as one photographer asked us to pose, several more flocked to us, cameras flashing. The parade was a blast and thankfully much shorter and less hilly than the Sydney Mardi Gras. My only issue was that the float we were next too pumped out music with such a high bmp that we exhausted ourselves trying to keep up with it.

The parade ended at the Civic Centre, a huge domed building with a grassy lawn in front. The parade floats drove into different areas and set up their sound system to rock it out. Our group of hoopers found a spot and rocked out ourselves. I met lots of new people and reconnected with others I had met at HoopCamp the week before.

When sun went down and the wind turned chilly, I met up with Kristina, Damian and their friends and headed back to their place. We ran into Rich AKA Isopop, an amazing hooper and teacher from HoopCamp. He showed us around his nearby office, a gorgeous architecture firm. We all headed back to Kristinas for pizza and vodka shots. Side note - the pizza here is enormous. Huge. Gigantic. And delicious when you haven't eaten all day.

After Damian and his friends passed out (around 8pm), and Rich sent himself home to bed, Kristina and I went to a warehouse party with her friend Aimee. Heavy dubstep, funky space and interesting people (I met one called Creature). I hooped with my brand new psihoop but my body was sore from the hours before. I realised that I'd been hooping for at least 5 hours a day for the last 10 days, and so gave it a rest.

Today I've just been vegging out on the couch, watching cable tv and drinking tea. Tonight we're planning to head out to the Castro for dinner, then I've got an early flight to Vegas tomorrow. I'm sad to be leaving San Francisco, but I know I'll be back. I've made so many friends, had such great meals and enjoyed this city's vibe so much. I just checked my bank balance with trepidation, but i'm not broke yet. Bring on Vegas!
