My hostel in Sorrento is AMAZING. It deserves those capital letters, its that good. Its like a hotel really, brand new, gorgeous spacious rooms, waterfall shower, massive rooftop sun deck and its sooo clean.

Headed off to Pompeii on my first day and was pleasantly surprised to find entry was free. When I asked why I was given a shrug. I have to get used to this explanation, I think. Pompeii was actually not as impressive as I expected. I think I was envisioning more remains in situ, like seeing whole scenes of ancient life preserved, rather than just the buildings and a few plaster casts of bodies. But I guess most of it has been moved to the museum in Naples. Oh well, I still enjoyed it, and did I mention it was free?

Decided to go to Naples especially to get pizza...it is the home of pizza after all. Stumbled around for half an hour looking for a place reccommended in my lonely planet. Got whistled at, cat called at, kissed at, and called bella multiple times, but I laughed it off. Nowhere near as bad as Egypt. Gave up the search for the place I was looking for, but found an amazing place anyway. Had a plain margherita pizza and it was the best pizza of my life. No joke. The crust was so tasty, the cheese melty and it was just so flavourful. Yum. Topped it off with a white chocolate gelato (Im now up to 15 different flavours so far).

Spent the next day in Sorrento, wandering around. Its quaint, albeit tourist filled. Walking back to my hostel I decided to stop in and get pizza from a little cafe. Got chatting to an older English couple who said I really reminded them of their granddaughter. We talked the whole of lunch and then the got up to leave. But the woman came back a few minutes later and told me shed paid for my lunch! She said she would love it if the same thing had happened to her granddaughter. I was so touched, what a sweet thing to do! Definitely a travel moment. Spent the rest of the afternoon lounging around on the rooftop, enjoying the last of the sun.
