Arrived in Frejus to be picked up by Anya and Brian (after an annoying incident where the bus driver refused to sell me a ticket until I could ask for it in a perfect French accent). Headed to their campsite, a misleading term which implies sleeping in a dodgy tent on the ground. In fact they have a lovely caravan with a kitchen, shower, outdoor eating area and garden. Met Lauren and spent the day lazing about in the sun by the pool and meeting heaps of people who spend every year coming down here on their holidays.

Went out that night to a Pimms party and met more people, then all headed down to the club on site, where, horror of horrors, the police had banned it from serving alcohol. Apparently an idiot 16 year old had snuck in and gotten drunk there the night before and his parents had complained. And stupidly, the club had forgotten to get an alcohol license...so the whole place was shut down. Dramas continued as the security guards refused to let anyone drink onsite, so everyone was forced to walk outside the gates to drink and socialise. Stupid, but kind of amusing and quite exciting.

The days in Frejus are all blurred together, a haze of sleeping, lazing by the pool or sea, eating, drinking and partying. It was really great to feel safe in the campsite, knowing my stuff was secure, people would be friendly and that I didn't have to rush around and see cathedrals and museums all day:

Really enjoyed a night where the girls put on a Princess party, where we all wore our prettiest dresses, tiaras and ate cupcakes and brownies. Also had a nice time at Ben and Anya's uncles house, where we played gladiators in the infinity pool and had about 5 seconds of a game of boules until we got rained out. The Soiree Mousse (foam party) at the club was so much fun too, sliding around in wall to wall foam, attempting to dance while not falling over.

On the last night we went out for dinner at the Frejus port and wandered around the markets. It was really lovely and made me a bit sad to be leaving my little surragate family for the week.

Onwards to Berlin and cold weather now!
