I decided to hang out at Timmy's for a bit and ponder my options and the map. My phone had been dead for a few days and I had tried to contact Ryan (another cousin) but had no luck previously. I sat in the store tired and off in la la land. A kind old angel walked up and handed me 5 Tim Horton Dollars no questions asked and walked off. I couldn't believe, I nearly did a jig on the spot. A figurative tear dripped down my cheek and I rushed into the line. Eager as a beaver, I ordered a massive chili combo and devoured every bite with great enthusiasm. So mom I bet you said a prayer at the very moment the old lady walked up. God you ol chap! You did it again.

I walked down the street a ways and tried unsuccessfully to steal some electricity to charge my phone. Eventually I found myself in a hardware store where the gentlemen allowed me to charge my phone long enough to make a couple phone calls. I got a hold of Ryan and headed off to his abode for a few days of glorious jamming and partying. Them boys is Saskatoon know how to hold a party. I'm forever thankful for Ryan for putting me up with no prior notice!

I did some busking downtown and ended up meeting a local busker, so the two of us had a busking jam and ended up making a few bucks. It was all great fun, I for the first time was asked to move on by the police. The first and not the last. A Saskatoonian gal gave me a tour of the riverbed area and the trendy bar scene. I did a set infront of the busking statue, a very profitable location! I made about 15 bucks after bus fare both days.

So the boys graciously allowed me to join them on Ryans birthday weekend debauchery. And debauchery was had. There was dancing and women and booze and fighting and staying up till the wee hours of the morning. I couldn't forget the night if I tried, but why would I want to?

I showered and slept up and uncle Dave bought us birthday breakfast and delivered me to my escapedome, back on the road. Again many thanks and good-byes and back to the ol grind. Two super old ladies pulled over and god damn I wish they gave me a ride but they said they were only going a couple miles, one told me she had hitched in the 60's!! Yee-ha! I got a ride by a crazy dude who asked me about all the contents of my bag? and then I got a lift from a couple natives who already had another hitcher. Well luck was on my side, kinda...

They dropped us off at the same spot and one decision saved me. He decided to walk to the gas station to piss, I pissed in the grass behind a building. I made it out onto the road seconds faster and snagged a ride from a dude with room for only one! Woo-wee that was a close, I will always pee outdoors from this day on. Now began the ride of my spiritual awakening. He was many things this man, a photographer, a massage therapist, a spiritual leader of sorts. He had conections with things I couldn't even begin to explain. We discussed many things, religion was quite a hot topic as it usually is.

He dropped me off in the Superstore parking lot on the east side of Yorkton, Saskatchewan. I bought a loaf of bread, some fruit and some trail mix and sat out front singing and eating. I saw a stellar patch of trees and decided to call it a night, the sun wasn't yet down but the rain dropped furiously. I scoped out a spot near a graveyard and popped up the tent, it was raining and I wanted out of it. I had a crazy sleep haunted by being found and dead people near by, my fears were for nothing however. I awoke, picked the multitude of slugs off my gear and headed out for another day of battle...
