A memorable visit to one of the most remote places on the planet. The journey from Cape Town to St. Helena takes 5 days.
In Napoleon's day many ships called in on their way around the Cape. Since the opening of the Suez Canal the island has fallen into sad decline. It is visited by a few cruise ships and small yachts, but otherwise is totally dependent on its ageing mail boat, the R.M.S. St Helena for all supplies and for travel to and from the island.
