Rested with the motorcycle fueled up, I left Pembroke and made my way towards Sudbury on Canada 17. I cruised through Deep River and made a left in Mattawa to head towards North Bay.  As I got closer to North Bay I noticed all the signs of a waterfront recreation area: everyone wearing shorts (or bathing suits) and flip flops, lots of loud "boom boom" cars, lots of traffic in general, and a sprinkling of grizzled local types shooting dirty looks to all the people they think don't belong there.  Including me!!

I gassed up again though I didn't really need it.  I learned my lesson once: running out of gas is not fun.  Now I get fuel whenever I stop, even if it is just a gallon or two.  You never know when you will find yourself in a place with no available fuel!

I quickly made my way out of town and found a scenic overlook where I stopped to take a couple of pictures.  After that it was back on the bike to finish the run to Sudbury.

I rolled into Sudbury at about 6 PM for my last night on the Trans-Canada.  I had a reservation at the Best Western in downtown Sudbury and found it without too much hassle.  I checked in and quickly changed out of my road clothes and into something more presentable.  The desk clerk was nice enough to let me park my motorcycle in a "No Parking" zone that was right in front of the door and would be in full view of the desk throughout the night.  I guess even larger cities in Canada can have a problem with crime!

I asked the clerk for recommendations on dinner.  They suggested the hotel's own restaurant that served Indian food.  It sounded delicious but after the lobster roll debacle in Maine I was hesitant to try some strange curry on my last night.  Instead I decided on the second suggestion they gave me which was a local Buffalo Wild Wings knock-off a couple blocks away called "Wacky Wings". I decided to walk so I could stretch the road out of my muscles and a few minutes later I was seated at the bar with a beer and waiting for my wings.  It was crowded and noisy as to be expected for a place of that type but I didn't mind.  It was a nice change after being out on the road alone all week.

The food and beer were good and after I finished my meal I walked back to the hotel to relax and prepare for bed.  I prepared my stuff for the last day's ride back home in the morning and it wasn't long after that before I fell asleep.
