Dick woke us at 1030, worried that his landlady may object to so many people being in his digs.

We borrowed a jack and managed to push out the dent in the car from the accident of the previous night. Actually we did quite a good job as it was hardly noticeable after that.

We returned to San Francisco and repeated the all-you-can-eat meal, this time with a little more care, which paid off as there was no suffering from it this time.

After lunch we visited the shopping area, Lombard Street (billed as the crookedest street in the world), and the cable car depot, where the engine that drives the cables under the streets is on display.

In the evening, about 1930, we left San Francisco heading East.  Dick had decided to come with us for a visit to Yosemite National Park where we arrived about 0230 the next morning.  At the park entrance a ranger stopped us to inspect the car before we could proceed to the campsite.  What he was looking for was not quite clear, but he obviously didn't find it as he allowed us to enter.
