On my way through Texas, North to New Mexico, I passed through El Paso.  This is a funky town on the border of three states, Texas, New Mexico, and Chihuahua.  The Rio Grande separates the U.S. and Mexico here by mere feet so the city is a real blending of cultures.  It's hard to tell where one city begins and the other ends. A bridge between El Paso and the Mexican city of Juarez forms the border crossing.  I've been reading in the local papers that the controversial border fence is now nearing completion and this is one of the hot spots.

You can see all this right from the highway and as I was looking, a big black and orange sign flashed in front of me "Barnett Harley Davidson".  What really caught my mind was the claim of "Worlds Largest"!  Knowing that my sister Allison's boyfriend Don is/was a HD store manager, I had to snap a few pics.  Actually, he just accepted the General Managers position at a large Honda dealership in the Phoenix area (but don't tell your Harley friends that ; ).  This place was huge, they must have hundreds of bikes amongst the three different show rooms.  They also had a large selection of used and custom bikes too.  This was a Saturday and they were having some big event out front and bikers from near and far were hanging out and listening to the tunes playing and having a big cook-out.  Fun!

So I'm back on the road to Albuquerque, New Mexico.  I'm going to spend a few days checking out the Indian Pueblos in the Santa Fe and Taos area.  If there is any snow left, I'll try to get on the slopes too.

p.s.  In between El Paso and Albuquerque is the little town of "Truth or Consequences", New Mexico.  I thought I would be cute and try and get a pic of me next to the sign while shrugging my shoulders but no such sign exists except this legend of how the town got its name.  In 1950, the town changed its name from Hot Springs to T or C after a then famous radio show, still don't know why though...
