Where I stayed
Funky Buddha Lounge
Well, sorry we didn't have much time to update the travelblog these last few days. There was a lot to see and do, and sometimes no internet connection.
So, Monday we flew to Chicago, came in super late due to the windy weather, rented a car and went directly to the Funky Buddha Lounge (great name, guys), where we all played decent electro - tech house sets to a very thin crowd, people coming and going, apparently more into themselves than into the party or the music. Was ok , but maybe "nothing to write home about". We slept in a cool loft space on a bunch of couches, and the next day went straight to "the Mecca" of Chicago house music records: Gramaphone (2843 N. Clark Street). They have everything there, nearly the whole back catalogue of all these artists and labels that 'invented' house music: Trax, Dancemania, Hotmix5 etc. and loads of classics in disco, italo, electro breakdance and so on. Crazy. We spent the whole day there!! And a fortune :/ But we really found some gems there.
In the evening we first went back to the Buddha, then to play with friend Marlon in a club called 'Berlin' (amusing) which used to be the residency of Ralphi Rosario!! We played real hard techno there and some old school acid house, and it seems everybody liked it. The club closed around 4 and we went straight back to the airport for a flight at 6 back to NYC !!
