Last night was an ordeal! Neill and I finally met up at Pompei and we both booked into the hostel here. This drunk Polish guy and his kid were in the same room and the guy latched onto us and wouldn't leave us alone. 'You com drink with us... super... we eat...' After an hour of him hassling us we couldn't shake him and we walked back to the hostel, got our bags, forfeited our money and booked into the local hotel. Apart from being extremely drunk, annoying, and saying 'super' all the time, I didn't trust the guy.

We headed back into town about 10:30pm and got one of the Italian enormous Peroni beers at a cafe. We got talking to this group of guys from Naples and they took great pleasure in teaching us all the crude Naples slang :) Neill said something to the waiter that they told us to say, she gave a wierd look and went inside, but returned with two beers anyway so all good

Between ruins and the new city

We hit the sack about 12:30 and slept in till 9 this morning before walking to the ruins (they are only about a 15 minute walk away). We spent a good four hours or so exploring the ruins and I think that I took more photos than anywhere else in Italy!

We are staying at Pompei (hotel!) again tonight and hopefully being Saturday night there will be a bit of nightlife again. Tomorrow we are going to Naples. We've been warned about Naples by at least 10 people now, some advising against going, some just saying to be careful. There were 170 people killed there last year so we are going to be careful. No bags, watches, wallet, etc. Just a small amount of cash and some dodgy clothes.

Talk to you tomorrow if we make it out of Naples again!
