Lit Carts, Brothers Witnessing

This week is  a CO visit for NN, so it seems appropriate that this episode has a spiritual theme. Thus far we have not been able to attend any meetings, as that will happen for the first time tomorrow (Tuesday) night at the West Manhattan cong.  (Wait for the NY episode as this is still SFO)  This draft is being done on the plane to NY, the flight monitor telling me that we are 2 h 48 mins from JFK or 1965 km to go. (Sunday)  Anyway back to SFO spiritual theme.
You will be pleased to know that Helen and I have been keeping up (more or less) with our spiritual program - text each day etc.  And we have remembered that we must send our May fs reports to Kerry. We have done some brief witnessing, always letting people know that we are here for an international  convention of Jehovahs Witnesses in New York. Most know about the Metlife Stadium where the Superbowl was held this year.

Most days we have stopped at lit stands either in the city or at Fishermans Wharf - there are several in each location. We wanted to have a brief chat and take a photo or two which are enclosed. I have others on the camera but having a bit of trouble copying them across at present.)  The "friends" are just that, friendly and obliging, as I am sure that witnesses from all over the world will stop to say hello.  One sister on the stand even wnted to take a picture for herself (Helen only - understandable!) Helen and I did our "things" while B & R went off and did theirs. The day before we left Helen and I took the bus to see the Painted Ladies, beautiful Victorian syle houses.  (photos aand story next time) We then decided to walk a block or two, and saw two recognizable males with satchels ready to cross the street.  We bailed them up, and they were two Spanish speaking brothers witnessing.  We introduced ourselves as did they, but I didnt catch their names clearly and didnt want to ask again so we will call them Carlos and Juan.   The one on the left was from Cuba and ther older brother who seemed not to speak too much English was from Mexico.  Their cong was called (appropriately) the Valencia Cong.  After a little more conservation we gave them one of our bookmarks each showing where Tas was. You can see the top of one of them sticking out from the older brothers bag.  (PS Travel note. This plane we are on - Sunday PM is still to take us over Minneapolis then over the Great Lakes north of Chicago and Detroit.)

I think that this will be enough as we are now in New York and I am getting behind with my writing.  One more SFO page to go, and you wont want to miss that!

Warmest greetings to all

John and Helen

By the time you get back you'll be true Americanos calling the brothers "the Friends".

Hi John and Hellen you now will be primed for public witnessing when you touch down on Tassie soil . :)

Great to see "the friends" out doing the same as us here. How's the temperature?
