Texas has so many different environments. Today alone I woke up in lush hills, crossed two beautiful lakes on causeways that reminded me of our old home in South Padre Island, TX, and descended into a much more arid climate. I began the day's travels in 48 degree weather and spent the afternoon riding in the 90s. All this in over a distance of only two hundred miles as the crow flies. This first photo, taken at a gas station convenience store, will attest to the kind of weather the locals live with on a regular basis.

Tonight I had some awesome fish tacos at Bikini's (Use your imagination.), a sports bar next to the hotel. Life is good.

Tomorrow I'll head for the Hill Country, the best that Texas has to offer in the way of motorcycling roads.

By the way, if you click on the title of each photo you'll be able to see a larger version with my comments.

Cheers!

I've heard so much about fish taco's. Not sure eating them at a bikini bar would bring me any closer to trying them... But maybe one day. At a place near the beach. A biker bar maybe.
