The morning brought the first sunny sky I've seen since leaving Brevard. Very welcome. It's great to travel free of dark clouds.
I explore the roads of northern Louisiana today. Many small towns that don't look like they've changed much in the last fifty years. In between the landscape is very lush with lots of meadows full of wild flowers.
The beautiful historic town of Natchitoches is nestled between the Cane River and Sibley Lake, is home to one of Louisiana's state universities and boasts the oldest general store in the state. Charming town, I'd like to come back with Robin sometime and stay in one of their many B&Bs.
Next came the Texas state line and another couple of hours of travel, arriving for the night in Livingston, TX. The RVers among you may recognize Livingston as the home of Escapees, an organization that gives full-time RVers (i.e. those with no stationary home) a legal address and mail forwarding services.
That's it for now. Tomorrow I'm heading for Texas hill country and will probably not post again until something particularly interesting happens or I have some great photos to share.
