Why do it? Why sell your car and many of your posessions, say goodbye to your friends, quit your job, grab your suitcases and guitar and hit the open road to follow a lady from India who goes around the world hugging people?

For me there are numerous reasons:
1. I simply felt a calling to go. I first met Amma in 2007 during the Washington DC program and received her Darshan for the first time. A profound warmth came over me and put me at peace. I knew then I wanted to be around her more and serve in some capacity.
2. I want to help. Amma cares for so many people. Providing free houses, low cost medical care, vocational training, free food, to name a few. She administrates an orphanage, elder care home, universities, and hospital among many other things. Certainly I can do something to help.

I am very much looking forward to going to San Ramon California on the first stop of my journey with amma.  Many people come to receive Amma's Darshan (blessing) and I will be serving in the capacity of parking attendent helping to park cars for the thousands of people who will be coming for darshan and the meditation retreat.

I have included for your listening enjoyment a mp3 of the bhajan (devotional song) "Jai Jai Jai Gananayaka" that kind devotees helped me sing at a fundraiser for me to go on the 2008 Amma tour. Gananayaka also known as "Ganapati" or "Ganesha" is the elephant faced lord who removes obstacles and brings success.
At the end of the song I transition into my original setting of the Ganesh mantra "OM GUM GANAPATIYEA NAMAHA"

May Ganesha remove all obstacles to universal peace and welfare.
