With hot porridge for breakfast we were ready to take on the world, but found ourselves in sleepy Te Anau on a Sunday afternoon. With all our exertions the previous day in our kayaks however, this was arguably the best place for us and we had a round of crazy golf before lunch. Clare won by a country mile but we think she must have inside knowledge of the course.
After yet another goodbye to the Crows (we still may see them in South America yet!) Lou drove us out of town to try to find somewhere good to camp for the night. We drove out to a national park but found we were not allowed to camp there so free-camped again, near a small town called Mossburn - the deer capital of NZ. Unfortunately, and to our ultimate disappointment, we made a u-turn to go back through town after wrongly reading the sign as "BEER capital of NZ"!
