In the few months leading up to Christmas we have spent many days out exploring the Manchester area and catching up with Candices Family. Many days have been filled with endless shopping in ''Marks and Spencers'' with Candices Gran. (We now know where Candice gets it from), and we are enjoying the wonderful home cooked roasts from Gran, which we missed a lot while travelling around Europe.
We have visited many old villages and towns around Manchester, as well as the very pretty Lake District. Everywhere is very old and Elizabethan looking. Lots and Lots of History to Soak up.

We went to Blackpool to see the illuminations. Blackpool is kind of like Vegas, but smaller, and tackier. Its a load of fun though. Lots of casinos/amusement type places, lots of shows on, awesome rides and the entire place is crawling with drunk idiots from bucks and hens nights. Its on the water which usually is a good thing, but in this case it makes the temperature even colder.

We have been to Liverpool to see where the Beatles came from. Its not like either of us like the Beatles, but its something that just had to be done. Once again, another freeeeezing cold day.

Candices Uncle Mick got us some awesome tickets to see Manchester United at Old Trafford. Of course the score was 0-0, didnt even get to see a goal. We didnt get to see the Red Sox get a single home run in Boston and we didnt get to see Man U score in Manchester. Just our luck!!! It was still a great night. The seats were great, and the atmosphere is unlike anything we have seen before. Its a shame to say but Aussies just dont get into the games as much as here. The whole crowd was singing and swaying, swearing and yelling, the whole thing was just unreal.

We have been into Manchester quite a few times now. Manchester is a great city for shopping and the nightlife is surprisingly good here. We just cant understand how the girls dress here though. They wear less than they do at home, tiny skirts and even smaller tops in temperatures around 5 degrees. Its just insane. We go out with Long Johns on under our jeans with about 5 layers on under our jacket, scarf, beanie and gloves.

Whilst in Manchester Candice has been doing reception work at a huge warehouse just around the corner, whilst John has been doing warehouse work with a bit of electrical on the side.
