I did a stop over in Pisa on my way from Florence to Cinque Terre. I had heard that there wasn't much to see, but I figured I'd be able to pass the better part of a day. Sporadic rain storms, however, ushered me through town faster than I had planned.
The main attractions in Pisa are all conveniently placed together in a large grass field. It makes it nice for blitz-sightseeing, but I felt it detracted from my enjoyment. Especially with regards to the leaning tower, which is snuggled up next to a humungous church. I guess, though, if the tower had been somewhere else, it may not be leaning and I definitely would have had to spend more time in the rain.
