A beach break at Mancora

FURTHER up the coast of Peru, near the Ecuador border, is the small beach resort of Mancora.
We decided to reward ourselves for traveling from coast to coast by taking a dip in the Pacific and spending a few days relaxing on the beach.
Our beach wear hadn't seen the light of day since we were in Brazil and it was great to finally put away the llama wool hats and scarves and jump into the warm sea.
 One night we were accused by the local police of smoking cannabis and marched out of a bar to be searched - apparently the authorities make a lot of money by taking bribes from tourists daft enough to get involved in the drug scene.
 We were, of course, completely innocent and, when they realised they couldnīt get anything from us, they sent us on our way.
 There are, evidently, pros and cons to growing a long beard.
