About an hour down the road, driving through Port Lavaca, we came upon a city park that called to us. How could we pass up staying right on the beach?  We didn't. We spent a lot of time walking on the little beach, the boardwalk and pier. Out on the pier there was a big round table and the wind was blowing quite hard. I couldn't resist jumping up on the table and dancing around. Bad as they are, I'll share the photos. At least you can see we were having fun.

John dropped the lense cover for his big zoom lense into the estuary along the pier.  Off came the shoes and in he went!  Never, ever would I do that, it has to be full of creepy crawlers.  He said, "Oh, no, the snakes!" and I was having a heart attack.  What a tease!

We did some shopping and found a Red Box, so we had a movie night.  We ate dinner at a great Mexican restaurant and just enjoyed our quiet time in a little Texas town.

Texas note:  Texans like to show tribute to individuals and groups who have earned their respect and appreciation.  There are many memorials and dedications along the highways and byways.  There is a strong sense of pride in being a Texan and being an American that shines strongly here.

PS:  The restrooms/showers at this park were ghastly.  The city needs to step up and totally remodel them.  John braved the shower, but I stayed in our little RV.
