Where I stayed
Gulf Waters Beach Front RV Resort
What I did
Our time at the Aquarium, including the dolphin show, was a lot of fun
After our time underwater, we went to Pier 99 for lunch. I know Amber, John and Matt would really enjoy this place - very "earthy." There is a big pier out back with lots of tables and a band playing. The food was delicious. John had his first shrimp poor-boy. Yummy. I should have gotten one of their shirts with "Life in the Fast Lane is Hard for a Turtle." Perfect!
On the other side of Corpus Christi we drove across another long bridge to get to Padre Island. It was extremely windy and the island is very bare with few places to stay. We drove on to Mustang Island State Park. The beach there is quite far away from the RV park. The RV area was in the sun and the wind, so we drove on. Driving east we finally made it to Gulf Waters Beach Front RV Resort. They almost didn't let us in, because our RV was too small, but, at last, they allowed us to stay in their swanky place. It was nice.
This is a park rather like condo's. Each space is owned individually and rented by the park when the owners aren't occupying it. There are several ponds, a nice boardwalk to the beach (over the rattlesnakes that there is a sign warning you about), a great pool area, club house with a big kitchen, a laundry room and individual bathrooms. Parked next to the half million to million dollar huge RV's, we looked like a little gnat. We still got those friendly Texan waves as we walked by on our way to the beach.
