Refreshed, I drove and headed out into the wind.  It wasn't long before I was tired of the battle and turned the driver's seat over to John again.  We drove past the sage brush and prairie and past the farmland and oil fields until we reached the city of Amarillo.  The wind got worse!  The rain began to fall.

We were driving back and forth across the city looking for a place to park and take a hot shower.  Fifty miles later or so we finally stumbled into a pleasant park.  The older little ladies at the desk checked us in and were very helpful with information.  Information like, "If there is a tornado, the sirens will go off.  Then you should come over here to the main building.  It is made of cement blocks and is our storm shelter."  Welcome to Texas!

Rockin' and rollin' in the RV again, we looked at each other like, "Is this for real?"  It is a very strange feeling to roll the dice on whether you are parked in the right place to stay on the ground.  Very weird indeed.  But, when it was time to go to bed and try to sleep, John put his ear plugs in and that was that - for him.  Until the hail started beating the big bass drum on our roof and I woke him up.  Then he was on the Internet and watching the news cast for a long time and I drifted off to sleep, because he had it covered.  Thank you, John.
