We caught our very first gua gua to Sosua.  Cheap!  120 pesos for four of us.  Gua guas are very crowded, but a great way to immerse into the culture and get to know people!  Here is where we met Yogi, a (missionary?) from Japan who was patroling the cities with his group to stomp our crime! Amusing, because I gathered all this from our broken Spanish...neither one of us were very good yet, but it was our common language!  So Sosua was about 40 minutes by gua gua from Rio San Juan.  We stayed there one week, and did not venture far into the town itself.  We hit the main beach, which was not my favorite, very steep and crowded with vendors.  Our last day there we found a nicer beach, that is accessed by the Waterfront Hotel.  Our apartment at Amerispan was huge!  Laundry service, breakfast, tv.  Supermercados are within walking distance, and many restaurants, from the frugal, local fare, to more expensive, ethnic flavors.  We sampled la Roca, a Mexican food restaurant and spent around $80 US dollars for dinner.  It was delicious, but really put a crunch in our budget.
