Sunday, I wasn't feeling too well when I woke. I had had an upset stomach since Friday, though nothing too serious. This morning it felt more noticeable. I counted backward. It was probably something that I had picked up in Burundi. Stomach bugs can take a few days to incubate. I had been eating lightly anyway, usually only one meal a day, that’s usually what works best for me to kick such things. I rested and working in the room in the morning waiting to see if some of the other local members I had called would wish to have a visit. No one called back.

Shortly before noon, I drove down to the ocean and went for a walk at Flic en Flac. The resort area was full of local people and some tourists as well enjoying the day off. There were beach parties with loud techno music, family groups picnicking, teens walking around slowly looking for prospects and lots of people in the water. It was quite loud in places, but in most places still pleasant.

Back in my room, I received a call from Jocelyn asking if I could stop by for coffee in the afternoon. I was happy to go, and arrived around 3:00 pm. The Prodigues and I chatted for several hours. He told me that they had decided they would be part of the new association, and asked some advice on how to handle the visit of a UCG representative, that he didn’t really want to receive, in a few weeks. We discussed it and I gave some advice, but told him it was really up to them to decide how they wished to handle the situation.

I left as the afternoon was fading and drove back to the hotel, stopping along the way to fill the tank on the rental car, so I wouldn’t have to in the morning. I skipped dinner and will go to bed early to prepare for my ongoing travel to Reunion.
