Today we had decided to do a bit of a drive stretch. Albeit very reluctantly because the weather was amazing! The night temperatures hadn't dropped below 20C and it was too good to be true. Our destination was Benidorm about 100km south and the drive was just beautiful through the craggy mountains (with no snow on them!).
Along the road we spotted a cool church which strongly reminded us of a Norwegian stave church, so we could resist stopping to have a look. It was like an enormous log cabin in the shape of a greek cross. It was still a work in progress, but the mosaic at the door said it had been consecrated in 2002. Even though the inside was painted all throughout in the medieval style. We had lunch there before heading out again to Benidorm.

When we heard of Benidorm, we half anticipated that it might have been the Spanish equivalent of Bonnie-Doon, but when we arrived we quickly discovered it is the veritable Spanish mannhattan on the sea. Massive skyscrapers peppered the shore and once again that feeling of 'motorhome-in-the-city dread’ fell upon us. But miraculously when we came to the sea side we were capable of claiming an awesome park right on the water! This city was huge, we really had no idea. We were very lucky.

We spent the rest of the day walking most of the foreshore, shopping, and salivating outside the restaurants. The city is a little bit like the Gold Coast in Australia. We enjoyed cracking out the thongs and T-shirts again too.

We hope we don’t get in trouble for out awesome camp-park tonight… because, once again; too good to be true.

Woohoo just a ‘Move your car’ sticker! No fine for us!
